Aren’t you all happy that I’m finally back to my daily masks? Why? Because that means I finally get to try all these cool masks and review them! Today I’m here with the MediHeal Capsule100 Bio Seconderm Masks! They’re also known as ‘Ssam My Way Masks’ in korea die to their appearance on the korean drama Ssam My Way. With no further delay, here are my thoughts on these masks! So these masks come in three different... functions? These are 2-step masks but unlike other multi-step masks that make you use the ampoules first and then the sheet mask, this is the other way around. The sheet mask... well they’re not really sheets.. I think they call them bio-cellulose Masks? It’s a thin gel-like mask made with fermented coconut water. So kind of like the LEADERS coconut masks I guess. But anyways, the mask works as an exfoliant. You put it on and wait for 40 minutes until the mask somewhat dries. After it’s dry, you peel it off as you would with those peel-off masks. As you peel the sheet off, it takes the dead skin off your face. And then you use the ampoule. They give you enough ampoule to use for about 3-4 times so you can keep applying the ampoule as a follow up. Another bonus to the mask is that it also does lower your skin temperature about 4.7 degrees Celsius which is about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Because of this cooling effect, it does have a pore tightening effect as well as reducing excess sebum production. I’ve actually had these masks for a while but I was waiting to use all three of them before I post a review (and today marks the day). Now I’ll talk about the individual ones and what they do and what they contain as their active ingredients. Turquoise: The turquoise one is called ‘Clear Alpha’ It helps with cleansing of your pores and ‘pore-toning’ which means pore tightening. The gel mask contains: - Green tea extracts - Tea tree extracts - Centella asiatica extracts (anti-bacterial, skin regeneration) - Boswellia Serrata (calms skin) The ampoule contains Hyaluronic Acid which helps with deep moisturization and hydration. Blue: The blue one is called ‘Hydro Beta’ It helps with moisturizing of dry skin. The mask contains: - Sodium Hyaluronate (firming and anti-wrinkle) - Betaine (deep hydration) - Ceramide NP (anti-aging) - Propandiol (moisturizing) The ampoule contains Ceramide NP and helps with anti-aging as well as quick and deep moisturizing. Red: The red one is called ‘Light Gamma’
it helps with brightening of the skin. The mask contains: - Niacinamide (brightening) - Arbutin (reduces Melanin production) - Glutathione (reduces Melanin production, firming and tightening) - Betaine The ampoule contains Glutathione and it helps brighten the skin. The brightening the skin is less of a tone-up but more of an inner radiance and healthy-looking skin. Overall, I would give this mask a 4.5/5! Yes it does seem to work. The blue and turquoise at least. The red (brightening) didn’t seem to show that much effect. This is because pore toning and hydrating is a very easy-to-see effect while brightening is more subtle and slow. If you’d like to try one, you can come get them at Zen Aesthetic in Japantown SF or the Global Gmarket MediHeal store here!
