Hello all! This is the very first post on my new website~ I hope you enjoy it! So a couple days ago, I went to the MEMEBOX IRL (In Real Life) pop-up store in Downtown SF and managed to get 2 shades of the Chateau Labiotte Wine Lipstick! The packaging is super simple and the lipsticks look like actual wine bottles! Chateau Labiotte Wine Lipstick comes in 2 different styles: Fitting and Melting. The ones I bought were the fitting kind and they are said to be a little dryer than the melting ones. Also, they contain actual Chateau Margau Wine extract and are said to react to the ideal melting point of 28°C. The shades I bought were RD03 Cabernet Red and RD04 Sauternes Red. The wrist swatchese can be seen here: The shade on the left is the Cabernet Red and the shade on the right is the Sauternes Red. RD03 Cabernet Red: Cabernet Red has a dark rosy shade. It definitely is red but it's not fire-engine red and it's a bit more subtle. Compared to other lipsticks, the wine lipstick is not as dry and when used with a lip primer, it definitely does not get stuck between your creases. My lips have a lot of creases so I usually don't wear lipstick, but this one is definitely a keeper. You can use the lipstick in a gradation style or full lip. RD04 Sauternes Red: Sauternes Red is a lighter rosy shade than Cabernet Red and I would say it's more on the coral side of red. The shade was a little too light on my side since my lips are naturally pretty pink. Lip concealer + Lip primer + RD04 Wine Lipstick may be the way to go. Overall, I would give this product a 4/5.
The Fitting line does seem to be a little dry for me and I normally have pretty dry lips. However, the packaging is cute and I love the idea of using wine in a makeup product! The colors are very nice and they come with a sponge so it's very easy to apply! If you want to try out the products for yourself, you can get them at Memebox or the Labiotte US Website!
