A while ago I was chosen for a Try Me, Review Me event through StyleKorean for the Rovectin Cica Care products! I was very excited to try them since I've been getting breakouts lately and while I honestly don't know why, I think it may be from hormonal issues. Well even through hormonal imbalance problems are more difficult and complex to deal with, I said why not give it a try. So with no further ado, let's get onto the review! The products I received in the mail were:
I will be reviewing each separately but before we get there, let me show you my condition before I started using these products. As you can all see, the most problematic areas were my T-zone area. I don't get terrible breakouts but it always happens on the same area..... Okay so now let's talk about these products. I'll be talking about the toner first. First of all, I love how large it is! Compared to other toners that only come in like... 100mL? 150mL? This toner comes in a 260mL container! It gives me the chance to use a lot at once without having to worry about running out. Now let's look at the ingredients! Active ingredients and functions:
They recommend 2 ways of using the product:
The wipe-away toner seems like the main way people would use it. You wet a cotton pad and wipe your face with it. The second use (soothing mask) isn't that much different. You fully wet a cotton pad or a dry gauze mask sheet with the toner and leave it on problematic areas for 10 minutes and take it off. Because of the lavender oil, the toner smells pretty refreshingly like lavender and I love it even though I don't generally like the smell of lavender. The toner felt quite refreshing and it absorbed pretty fast so I was able to do my second layer of toner with the toner I used to use. Alright then on to the second product which is the Rovectin Anti-Irritant Barrier Repair Ultra Cream: The cream is a little peachy-pink in color and the color shows through the tube. It's a pretty thick-ish cream so I don't recommend it for people with oily skin. The cream has many active ingredients so let me list those out:
The cream is not only made for the face but also for your body. It says you can use it anywhere at any time. Because I wear makeup a lot, I was worried that the thickness of the cream could affect the duration of my makeup but I was worried for no reason! The cream absorbs very fast and I love how it really doesn't smell like anything. Now onto the third and last product, the Rovectin Cica Care Sleeping Pack: The first thing I noticed with this product is that the texture is actually lighter than the cream. It's more gel-based sleeping pack than many other thicker packs and I really loved the lighter texture. I feel like because of the lighter texture, I could layer it on top of my other skin care products without having it be too thick. Okay now let's talk about ingredients! The active ingredients include Panthenol and Centella Asiatica extract to strengthen skin barriers and calm the skin. So apparently all three of these products are really good for people who have weak and thin skin due to allergic reactions, breakouts, and those who have had their oil and moisture balance broken due to other reasons. Below are the pictures I took today after about a week of using these products. I used the toner every day and night, the cream every day, and the sleeping pack every night. As you can see, it didn't really heal or soothe the breakout completely but you can see that the redness had decreased slightly. I know the lighting is a little different but the redness on my nose especially had reduced. Overall, I would rate this brand a 9 out of 10!
Although I didn't see a remarkable difference, it did seem to work in calming and reducing the redness. It's not something I'd be using all the time but I'll definitely go back to these products every time I get a breakout or a skin sensitivity problem. If you'd like to try out the products, you can get them at StyleKorean and I'll link them here: I hope you all liked this review and go check out the brand at Rovectin!
